Y1 Phonics letter to parents

Dear Parents and Carers,

Year 1 Phonics Screener Check

Children in Year 1 in England take part in a Phonics Screener Check in June every year.  This year the check will take place during the 6 – 10 June.

Each child at Evergreen will work one to one with Mr Rees to complete this test.  They will have to read 40 words that will demonstrate their understanding of the phonics they have been taught this year.  The children are very familiar with reading to adults in the school and taking mini tests throughout the year.

We will tell you the results of the tests in the end of year report that we write for your child.
