Year 6 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy greatly enjoyed their art and history takeover week with UWE students leading learning in class based on the 1950s. Pupils learnt about influential people of the 1950s, created Roy Lichtenstein inspired art and wrote their own 1950s songs.

Year 6 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy loved hearing the poetry and rap of inspirational poet George the Poet. They learnt about his poem ‘Impossible’ and rap ‘Follow the Leader’ and wrote their own raps at the end of the week.

Pupils in Year 6 at Evergreen Primary Academy, immersed themselves in climate change by carrying out a range of investigations based on climate change. They focused on investigating the impact of climate change on our seas with sea levels rising and seas becoming more polluted and acidic.

Roman Legion Museum of Wales online lesson

Year 5 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy were lucky enough to have the Roman Legion Museum of Wales visit them online to inform them about some interesting facts about the Roman army. Pupils learnt to march, found out the weapons they used and carried and asked amazing questions.

Back to the 60s!

In Year 5 this week, pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy have been lucky enough to have some UWE students in for an Art and History takeover. Pupils have been delving into the 1960s! They have jumped back in time and found out some interesting facts. Pupils danced to twist and shout by the Beatles, designed a retro radio for Sony, advertised this and created their very own radios. Amazing use of gem powers used every afternoon! Well done year 5.
