We are Astronomers
Year 5 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy have been astronomers looking at the night sky and what appears! They found that constellations are groups of stars and used to be used for navigation. Pupils drew out the constellations they might see in the night sky. They wondered which came first the constellation names or the zodiac signs!
Big day of Maths
Big Maths Learning this afternoon at Evergreen Primary Academy! Pupils debated with each other that they had made all the designs to build their houses with seven rooms in different ways, they set parameters about rotation, colours and height. Pupils used their mathematical learning powers to convince, specialise, conjecture and imagine with their maths! “I think that these two are the same because they are the same model but shown in a different rotation. I can prove this by showing you with the cubes and my representation.” Said one pupil. Well done Year 5!
Plane Makers
Evergreen Academy Year 1 pupils recently had an Immersion Event, where they created models of Spitfires. As authors and historians, they researched the past.
Mother’s Day – Afternoon Tea
On Friday, 25th March 2022, Evergreen Primary Academy organised an afternoon tea event for the mothers and their children to celebrate Mother’s Day.
There were sandwiches, cakes and treats for the children and parents, together with tea/coffee and fruit juices.
Tickets for raffle prizes were sold earlier in the week and on the day of the event. The three raffle prizes were two cakes decorated with roses and a bouquet of flowers. The raffle was drawn at the event and three families won the prizes!
Parent and children were able to have their photographs taken together next to the Mum display (kindly made by a parent) by a parent photographer. The photographs have been distributed to the families this week.
This event was sponsored by Greggs, who supplied bread for our sandwiches and a selection of cakes – free of charge!
The event was well attended, and everyone enjoyed themselves!
Mother’s Day Cards
Year 6 at Evergreen Primary Academy enjoyed being creative and making Mother’s Day cards for their mums and other special family members.
School Trip
Year 1 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy went on a school trip to Mina Road Park. They are proud to explore their local community.
Basketball
Year 5 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy have been using their amethyst and grit power to improve their skills in basketball! They have been working with Bristol sport to develop their team work skills, dribbling and sportsmanship!
Gender Equality Learning
Learners in Year 6 at Evergreen Primary Academy enjoyed learning about activism and feminism and collaborated to feedback information about different feminist organisations and feminists.

Year 5 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy took part in their first gender equality lesson as part of our citizen curriculum. They looked at their own support clouds and then researched different activist movements across the globe.
