Pupils step back in time to explore Victorian life

Year 2 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy have been stepping back in time as they explored life in the Victorian era.

Using pictures and artefacts, the children became history detectives, examining clues from the past and asking thoughtful questions about how life was different for Victorian children and families.

The pupils showed great enthusiasm as they investigated what everyday life may have been like during the Victorian period, developing their questioning, observation and historical thinking skills along the way.

A spokesperson for the academy said: “It has been wonderful to see our pupils so engaged in their history learning.

“They have shown real curiosity as they explored the evidence, asked insightful questions and discovered how different life was for Victorian children.

“We are incredibly proud of – and impressed by – the curiosity, enthusiasm and historical thinking they have shown throughout this topic. Well done, Year 2.”
