Letter to Parents/Carers – Industrial Action

Dear Parents/Carers

I am writing today to let you know that, following a ballot of union members, it has now been confirmed that teachers will be holding four days of strikes in this area.

This action, which is the result of a dispute between the National Education Union and The Government, and does not involve individual schools, will take place on:

• Wednesday 1st February  
• Thursday 2nd March,  
• and provisionally on Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March.  

We are currently planning for industrial action and looking at ways for your child’s education to continue on these days.

Lessons will only continue where it is safe and practical to do so, but please understand that some disruption is likely.

I appreciate this could impact on families. We are hoping to able to confirm what impact the strikes will have on your child’s learning next week.
