Climate Change Egg Investigation – The Results!
On Friday, Pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy completed their investigation into the impacts a more acidic sea would have on sea life with shells. They opened their egg boxes and found two very different eggs! The investigation demonstrated to learners the negative impact increasing acidity levels in our seas would have on sea life with shells – the egg shells partly dissolved and became rubbery!
RSPB Big School’s Birdwatch 2022
Evergreen Primary Pupils Diana Year 6 and her friend, Aioke Year 6, took part in RSPB Big School Birdwatch, which took place between 28 & 31 January.
They watched the birds in the school playground and field area during their lunchtime. They counted the highest number of each type of bird seen and submitted the results to the RSPB website. National results for the full survey will be out later in the spring.
Both pupils each received a certificate for their hard work and efforts, and both said they really enjoyed their birdwatching experience!
Werburgh’s City Farm trip
This week, Year 3 and 4 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy enjoyed a very soggy trip to St Werburgh’s City Farm.
They had a tour of the farm, fed some of the animals and planted their own seeds.
Pupils also went to Boiling Wells where they learnt survival skills, made shelters, and had some delicious hot chocolate.
They had lots of fun despite the weather!
