We are Naturalists
Year 5 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy went to the Wild Place Project to continue and deepen their learning about life cycles.
Wild Place Project is a fun family attraction that provides outdoor adventure, play and learning. Meet amazing animals from across the world from the mischievous lemurs of Madagascar to magnificent European brown bears.
As Naturalists pupils asked amazing questions that were answered by the volunteers at Wild Place, who were full of knowledge about the animals they keep safe. Pupils pointed out the different mammals, birds and reptiles that are kept there.
Pupils spent time reading all the information posts about how the different animals adapt and are suited to the environment. They learnt about conservation and how this impacts the population of certain animals, particularly bears and wolves!
Culture Week
Year 5 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy have enjoyed celebrating world culture week. They immersed themselves in everything Nepali.
Nepali, is a country of Asia, lying along the southern slopes of the Himalayan mountain ranges
Every morning, pupils started with a different flavoured cup of tea. They have also been designers and tie dyed cotton to support and enhance their sewed pencil cases.
Pupils cooked Dahl bhat. Dahl Bhat is a dish made of lentils and rice. It is considered to be the national dish of Nepali. Pupils enjoyed tasting it too!
We are Mathematicians
Pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy have been using rapid maths to support pupils maths learning. They are really getting to grips with it and it’s having an excellent impact upon their skills as mathematicians.
Rapid Maths makes catching up fun and gives each child personalised support and repeated practice in the fundamentals of numeracy.
We are Chefs!
Reception class at Evergreen Primary Academy have been busy this week celebrating Roma Culture.
Pupils took part in some fantastic cooking, they made traditional lemon flavoured buns! Yum yum!
We are Artists
Year 4 pupils at Evergreen Primary Academy used a paint blowing technique to paint cherry blossom trunks. Blow painting is a wonderful process art project with unpredictable and beautiful results!
