Tree-planting project creates wildlife haven
Evergreen Primary Academy and its Outdoor Club have completed a successful tree-planting initiative in collaboration with Year 2 pupils.
The primary aim of the project was to enhance the school environment by introducing native flora that will not only beautify the academy grounds but also provide a welcoming habitat for local wildlife. Among the species planted are hazel, dog rose, dogwood, crab apple, and hawthorn trees, carefully selected to thrive in the academy’s surroundings.
Under the guidance of teachers and club mentors, students will undertake the crucial task of caring for the trees as they mature, fostering a sense of ownership and environmental friendship between the pupils and nature.
A spokesperson for the academy said: “The pupils and staff are extremely proud of their efforts so far and can’t wait to see the fruits of their labour.”
